Girard’s Joe Swanson has been a force underneath the hoop for most of his high school career. The 6-foot 4-inch senior forward is off to another terrific start this winter at 14.9 points per game. With the competition in Region 6 starting to heat up, so has Swanson. He scored 20 points in a 61-32 region win over Corry before leading the YellowJackets to a 52-51 upset of Warren with 21 points. Swanson can pull the ball out and play guard, making him a dual-threat for the red-hot YellowJackets.
