Kennedy Catholic’s Rachel Burns decided she wasn’t going to let a season-ending knee injury last year affect her as a senior.
Burns, who tore an ACL during the District 10 Class A playoffs, is back this year and is scoring 10.3 points per game. The 5-foot 10-inch, guard/forward has stepped up as a leader for the Golden Eagles and has them looking at another D-10 championship.
Burns had 18 points in a 72-14 win over Jamestown and 10 points and three assists in a 53-34 win over Grove City. She finished the week up with 12 points in an impressive 51-40 win over Upper St. Clair.
